WHO ARE SODETREL CHARGING SERVICES AIMED AT?

The Sodetrel charging service is aimed at all drivers of electric cars, plug-in hybrid electric and electric two-wheeled vehicles.

Sodetrel offers two different kinds of charging service:

  • For businesses or local authorities who want to offer electric mobility solutions to their employees/citizens, our Marketing team is currently putting together a charging service aimed at fleets of vehicles.

WHY REGISTER WITH SODETREL?

  • Because Sodetrel guarantees the best price for charging your vehicle on a motorway as well as fantastic technical support 24/7.
  • Our Corri-Door network offers: universal rapid charging (tri standard, 50kW), one charging station every 80km on the main motorway routes, 80% of the battery charged in just 20 to 30 minutes, as long as you need for a coffee break!
  • But most importantly because, with Sodetrel, it’s easy 😉
  • Just one pass to access all the charging stations on the network, your own customer account so you can manage your use in real time, one bill at the end of the month, different payment options (bank card or direct debit), and a customer service team that’s happy to help!

You can follow the “forgotten password” procedure when you sign in to your online account. You will receive a new temporary password by email.

Can’t get your password? Contact our customer service department at service-client@sodetrel.fr or by calling 09 69 322 300 (Mon-Fri from 9am to 6pm, standard rate number).

HOW DO I CHANGE MY PERSONAL DETAILS?

Have you changed your address or telephone number? You can change or update your contact details in your online account by clicking on “My personal details”.

We recommend updating your contact details when they change. It is very important that your postal address and email address are up-to-date so that you can receive your Pass and your bills.

Please be aware that only your login name cannot be changed. Please therefore be careful when entering your username when you register.

HOW DO I SET UP EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS?

When you sign up to Sodetrel, you will have your own, intuitive online account where you can, among other things, set up different email notifications about your consumption and your use of the charging service:

  • Manage your account and your plans: subscriptions, orders, termination.
  • Charging events: charge started, charge in progress, charge report.
  • Billing and payments: publish a new bill, payment status, payment failures.
  • Your search and charging point location preferences: by GPS, type of socket, charging power etc.

All of these email notifications can be managed from your online account, in the “My online account” section, by clicking on “my alerts and notifications”.

HOW DO I START CHARGING AT CORRI-DOOR CHARGING POINTS FROM MY ONLINE ACCOUNT?

Have you signed up to a Sodetrel plan or just registered on our website? You have an online account where you can start charging without a Pass at Corri-Door charging points.

To do this, sign in to your online account on the website www.sodetrel.fr, go to the “My passes” section and click on “Get charging code”, then follow the instructions.

You will receive a temporary charging code by email, which you will need to enter on the touchscreen at the charging point. This code is valid for 10 minutes, after which you will no longer be able to use it to start charging at the charging point.

It is therefore a good idea to order the charging code only once you are in front of the charging point.

AT WHICH CHARGING POINTS CAN I USE THE SODETREL PASS?

The Sodetrel Pass is your passport to access all the 50,000 charging points on the network anywhere in France and Europe.

To find out more about the charging points that you can use with your Pass, please see our interactive map.

For more information about partner networks and charging prices, you can also see the page entitled “The Sodetrel network” on our website.

Our network of charging points is constantly being extended, so we suggest that you check our website and the interactive map regularly to keep yourself up-to-date with all the latest news!

HOW DO I ORDER MY SODETREL PASS?

Your Sodetrel Pass is automatically ordered when you sign up to a subscription plan via your online account. To confirm the order, all you need to do is pay the registration fee.

You will then receive your pass in the post.

If you want to order a new Sodetrel Pass, visit your online account and go to the “My passes” section.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE BEFORE I GET MY SODETREL PASS?

You will receive your Pass within 10 working days of paying the bill for your registration fee.

Still haven’t received your pass after this time? Please feel free to contact our customer service department at service-client@sodetrel.fr

Please make sure you have entered your address in your online account, as this is what we use to send you your Pass. If the address is wrong or incomplete, your Pass will not arrive, and that would be a real shame 😉

HOW DO I ACTIVATE YOUR SODETREL PASS?

When you receive your Pass, it is not activated. Before you can charge your vehicle, you must activate your Pass via your online account. This links up your Pass with the plan that you have signed up to, and so the charging prices for your plan will be applied.

To activate your Pass, complete the following steps:

  • Sign in to your online account
  • Go to the “My passes” section
  • Click on “Activate a pass”
  • Enter the UID for your Pass as well as the activation code in the appropriate fields (details on the back of your Pass).

That’s it, your pass is activated! You can now charge your vehicle without any problems across our network 😉

I’VE PURCHASED A PREPAID SODETREL PASS FROM A SERVICE STATION. HOW DO I USE IT?

The Sodetrel Passes available from service stations are an option for electric car drivers who do not have a Sodetrel contract but who want to use our rapid charging service on motorways very occasionally.

These Sodetrel Passes can only be used at charging points on the Corri-Door network. They are available to buy for €20 including all taxes from shops in service stations and are credited with 2 charging sessions lasting 30 minutes each (cannot be carried over). Once you have started a charging session, that means you have used that whole session, even if you have not used the full 30 minutes.

Prepaid Passes can be used as soon as you have purchased them. You don’t need to do anything to activate them. The process at the charging point is the same as for a “classic” Sodetrel Pass or any other pass.

I’VE PURCHASED A PREPAID SODETREL PASS FROM A SERVICE STATION. HOW DO I ACTIVATE IT?

You’ve purchased a prepaid Pass from a service station and our rapid charging service on motorways works for you?

The prepaid passes purchased from service stations cannot be recharged, so you cannot add more credit it to them.

However, you can use a Pass purchased from a service station to sign up to one of our subscription plans for unlimited use! It’s simple, all you need to do is create your online account and sign up to the plan that best suits your needs. Then activate the Pass in the “My passes” section.

DOES THE SODETREL PASS HAVE AN EXPIRY DATE?

As soon as your Sodetrel Pass is activated and linked up to a subscription plan, it has no expiry date and can be used indefinitely.

I HAVE A SODETREL PASS. CAN I CHARGE MY VEHICLE ON OTHER CHARGING NETWORKS?

Of course! It’s what we call interoperability! The Sodetrel network is made up of a collection of partner networks throughout France and Europe to which your Pass gives you access.

To find out more about the charging points that you can use with your Pass, please see our interactive map.

For more information about partner networks and charging prices, you can also visit the page entitled “The Sodetrel network”.

Our network of charging points is constantly being extended, so we suggest that you check our website and the interactive map regularly to keep yourself up-to-date with all the latest news!

I’VE LOST MY SODETREL PASS/IT HAS BEEN STOLEN

If your Pass is lost or stolen, it is very important that you deactivate it so that it cannot be used by anyone else.

To do this, sign in to your online account, go to the “My passes” section and click on “Report a loss or theft”.

Once your pass has been deactivated, you will be able to order a new one.

I’VE FOUND A SODETREL PASS

Any pass that does not belong to the person who has it should be returned in an envelope to the following address:
SODETREL – Service client
Immeuble Le Colisée
8, Avenue de l’Arche
92419 Courbevoie cedex

IS THERE A MINIMUM CONTRACT TERM WHEN YOU SIGN UP TO A SODETREL SUBSCRIPTION PLAN?

To offer you a flexible service to suit your needs, your Sodetrel subscription has no commitments, regardless of your plan.

At any time, at the click of a button, you can change or terminate your subscription plan at no extra cost.

When you terminate your plan, all you need to do is pay for anything you owe for that month, that’s all!

CAN I CHANGE MY SUBSCRIPTION PLAN?

Have your charging habits changed, meaning that your plan no longer suits your needs? You can change your subscription plan at any time, at the click of a button.

To do this, sign in to your online account, go to the “My subscriptions” section, then click on “Edit my subscription”.

HOW IS THE CHARGING PRICE CALCULATED?

Charging is billed according to the time spent plugged into a charging point, not the power that it delivers.

Charging points are not programmed to stop charging when your battery is full. If you stay plugged in to a charging point for 2 hours but your vehicle only took one hour to be fully charged, you will be billed for 2 hours for using the charging service.

Sodetrel is not responsible for a vehicle’s charging capacity either. If you charge your vehicle at a “rapid-50kW” charging point, you will pay the rapid price even if your actual charge was “fast-22kW” or “standard-3kW”.

As far as the pricing policies applied to charging points are concerned, it is the owners of the networks of charging points who set the prices. Charging prices vary from one network to another.

When you are charging your vehicle on a network other than the Sodetrel network (one that is interoperable with Sodetrel), interoperability charges are added to the charging cost. These fixed prices are defined by the mobility operators.

All the charging prices (cost of the charge + interoperability charges) for the different networks available with your Sodetrel Pass are detailed here.

HOW DO I PAY MY BILLS?

You will receive one monthly bill summarising all of your charging for the month. You will be told by email and notified in your online account whenever a new bill is issued.

You can only pay your bills via your online account in the “My bills” section. We do not accept any other payment methods.

You can choose between two payment methods:

  • Bank card
  • SEPA direct debit. N.B.: SEPA direct debits are processed within 12 days.

To make your life easier, you can save a favourite payment method so that your bills will be paid automatically when your monthly bill is received. To set up a repeat payment method, choose one of the following two options: recurring bank card or SEPA direct debit.

CAN I CHANGE MY FAVOURITE PAYMENT METHOD?

Have your bank details changed and you want to change your favourite payment method?

It’s really easy! Sign in to your online account and go to the “My bills” section. Then click on “delete my favourite payment method”.

To save your new repeat payment method, wait until you receive your next bill and pay it by SEPA direct debit or recurring bank card.

WHAT HAPPENS IF A BILL IS NOT PAID?

Whenever a new bill is issued, you will receive an email and a notification on your online account.

The payment deadline is 15 days from the bill date. If your bill is not paid within this 15-day deadline, you will receive email reminders.

If the bill is still not paid 1 month after it was issued, your client account will automatically be suspended. Suspension means that you will no longer be able to charge your vehicle with your pass.

To reactivate your client account, all you need to do is pay the bill(s) due. Your account will automatically and immediately be reactivated. Have all your bills been paid? You can start using your pass and charging your vehicle immediately!

HAS YOUR ACCOUNT BEEN SUSPENDED? WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?

Suspension of your account means that your subscription plan is temporarily deactivated and you will no longer be able to charge your vehicle with your pass.

The main reason for an account being suspended is a bill not being paid when due.

To reactivate your client account, all you need to do is pay the bill(s) due. Your account will automatically and immediately be reactivated. Have all your bills been paid? You can start using your pass and charging your vehicle immediately!

HOW CAN I CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION AND CLOSE MY ONLINE ACCOUNT?

Before you close your online account once and for all, you will first need to cancel your subscription plan. To do this, sign in to your online account, go to the “My subscriptions” section, then click on “Cancel my subscription”.

A bill for the outstanding amount for the month will automatically be generated. There are no other additional costs associated with cancellation. You will however need to settle this bill to be able to close your online account once and for all.

To close your online account, go to the “My personal details” section and click on “Close my account” at the bottom of the page.

Please be aware that closing your account is permanent.

To be able to carry on looking at the interactive map of our charging points and the practical information about them, we recommend keeping your online account active. You can carry on using it even if you have not subscribed to any plan!

If you have any problems, please contact us by email at service-client@sodetrel.fr.

WHICH DEPARTMENT DO I NEED TO CONTACT IF IHAVE A BILLING ISSUE?

Our customer service department is available from Monday to Friday between 9am and 6pm at the following address: service-client@sodetrel.fr.

WHICH DEPARTMENT DO I NEED TO CONTACT IF I AM UNHAPPY / HAVE A COMPLAINT?

Are you not completely happy with our charging service? We are really sorry about that, and are keen to do what we can to make sure that you are! Please feel free to contact our customer service department at service-client@sodetrel.fr. We are available from Monday to Friday between 9am and 6pm.

HOW DO I KNOW WHERE THE CHARGING POINTS ARE, WHETHER THEY ARE AVAILABLE AND HOW MUCH THEY COST?

To find out where to find charging points that you can use with your Pass, please see our interactive map.

If you register on our website, you will be able to access all the practical information you need about the charging points, as well as dynamic map details! This means that you will be able to check the availability of the charging points in real time with details about their status (available, in use, not available, undergoing maintenance).

Click on the charging point of your choice and a pop-up window will appear to give you valuable information about the power of the charge, the type of sockets available and the prices in use for that charging point.

WHAT DO THE DIFFERENT COLOURS OF THE ICONS ON THE INTERACTIVE CHARGING POINT MAP MEAN?

If you are registered with Sodetrel, you can enjoy the privilege of being able to see the dynamic map details in real time! This means that you can find out the exact status of a charging station at any given time.

Please find below details of what the icons mean for the charging points shown on the map.

WITH WHICH KINDS OF VEHICLES ARE SODETREL CHARGING POINTS COMPATIBLE?

To offer you as universal a charging service as possible, the charging points on the Sodetrel network are compatible with all kinds of vehicles currently available, whether they are electric or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.

Different kinds of socket are available on the charging points so that, depending on your vehicle model, you can use different kinds of charging types to suit your needs and your use.

HOW DO THE DIFFERENT CHARGING POWERS WORK?

Not all vehicles tolerate the same charging powers. With the same manufacturer and for the same model of car, the battery may be “restricted” and allow lower charging powers. It is up to your car manufacturer to give you all the information you need about the right charging power for your vehicle.

Here is a quick overview of some of the jargon used for charging power:

  • slow charge = up to 7 kW
  • fast charge = 7kW to 22kW
  • rapid charge = up to 22kW
  • ultra charge or super charger = 50kW to 150kW

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF THE CHARGING POINT DOES NOT RECOGNISE MY SODETREL PASS?

There are several possible reasons for this:

  • Is the charging point actually accessible with your Pass? First of all, make sure that you are actually at a charging point that can be used with a Sodetrel Pass. All the charging points on our network are visible on our interactive map.
  • Has your Pass been activated? If this is not the case, sign in to your online account on the website www.sodetrel.fr and go to the “My passes” section.
  • Have you held your Pass for long enough over the card reader on the charging point? The charging point may take a few seconds to recognise your Pass. If you remove your pass from the reader too soon, it might find it difficult to read your pass properly, and so might not recognise you.

Make sure you hold the Pass over the reader until the charging point display says “identifiant accepté” (ID accepted).

Does the problem continue? Our technical experts are available 7 days a week from 7am until 10pm on 09 69 322 500 (standard rate number).

I HAVE A PASS ISSUED BY A DIFFERENT OPERATOR: WILL IT WORK WITH SODETREL CHARGING STATIONS?

If your mobility operator has entered into an interoperability agreement with Sodetrel, your pass should be compatible with the charging points on our network. To find out whether your pass is compatible with our network, please contact your operator, who will be able to tell you whether they are interoperable with Sodetrel, and how much charging will cost.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF A CHARGING POINT IS NOT WORKING?

For some issues, our teams can intervene remotely via our electronic supervision tool. If the issue requires physical intervention, we will come ourselves or send one of our suppliers as quickly as possible.

You can contact the Sodetrel technical department, available 7 days a week from 7am until 10pm on 09 69 322 500 (standard rate number).

Is there an issue on the Corri-Door motorway charging station network? Our technical experts are available 24/7 on 09 72 58 51 80 (standard rate number).

CAN THE TEMPERATURE AFFECT THE CHARGING TIME AT THE CHARGING POINT?

In winter in low temperatures, or in summer in high temperatures, it is possible that charging times will be longer than usual.

The outside temperature can indeed have an impact on the capacity of a vehicle’s battery to charge on full power.

The BMS (Battery Management System) is the software in the battery of an electric car that manages the vehicle’s charging power. This software is configured to restrict the charging current in extreme temperatures to protect the battery and extend its life. If the temperature is too cold, or too hot, the BMS automatically limits the charging power accepted by the vehicle’s battery, which thus extends the charging time, especially for fast charging, at 22kW, or rapid charging at 50kW.

So it is not the charging point that is causing your vehicle to take longer to charge in cold or hot weather.

WHAT IS INTEROPERABILITY?

Interoperability is the ability of different mobility operators to work with each other to facilitate user access to different networks without needing to combine access solutions.

In practical terms, the different owners of charging point networks sign agreements with each other so that their respective users can use charging points even if they do not have a pass for the network on which they want to charge their vehicle. If you are a Sodetrel customer and have a Sodetrel Pass, there is nothing to stop you from charging your vehicle on charging points on the Plugsurfing network in Germany or in Belgium.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF INTEROPERABILITY FOR USERS?

Thanks to the interoperability agreements between the different owners of networks of charging points, you have access to the largest electric charging network, without being limited by any borders.

Interoperability between networks offers different charging options, not only in France, but also internationally.

Your mobility operator remains your single point of contact in your electric charging experience, particularly when it comes to billing.

WHAT IS THE CORRI-DOOR NETWORK?

The Corri-Door network is leading the way for long-distance electric mobility, as it is the first charging network for electric cars on motorways in France!

The Corri-Door in brief:

  • A network of 200 rapid charging points (50kW) every 80km on the main French and cross-border motorways.
  • A universal charging service that is compatible with all 100% electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles on the market.
  • An ability to charge the battery up to 80% in around 30 minutes, as long as you need for a coffee break 😉

WHAT DOES A CORRI-DOOR CHARGING POINT LOOK LIKE?

The charging points on our Corri-Door network are different models. However, access, the customer experience and the information available at the charging point are exactly the same for all the models on Corri-Door.

WHICH SOCKETS ARE AVAILABLE ON CORRI-DOOR CHARGING POINTS?

To offer you as universal a charging service as possible, the charging points on the Corri-Door network are compatible with all kinds of vehicles currently available, whether they are electric or plug-in hybrid electric.

Different charging cables are available at Corri-Door charging points, so you don’t need to use your own, it’s all provided for you!

HOW DO YOU CHARGE YOUR VEHICLE AT A CORRI-DOOR CHARGING STATION?

The customer experience in brief: all the different options for using the charging point are shown on the charging station, and explanations about what the customer needs to do are displayed on the screen. The process is the same for the different models of charging point on the Corri-Door network.

HOW CAN I USE CORRI-DOOR CHARGING STATIONS WITHOUT A SUBSCRIPTION PLAN?

Would you like to use one of the 200 rapid motorway charging points on the Corri-Door network, but you don’t want to sign up to the Sodetrel All Inclusive charging service? We have just the solution for you! Here are the different options for using the Corri-Door network without a Pass and without a subscription:

To use the charging points on a pay-as-you-go basis, use the online micropayment solution! You can start charging and pay-as-you-go via our micropayment website for €1.3/5 minutes of charging.

It’s really easy: once you are at the charging point, sign in to the website paynow.sodetrel.fr and follow the instructions. You will just need to provide an email address and your bank card details.

You can also use our free app, Sodetrel Mobile, to find the charging points on the Sodetrel network, plan your journey, book a charging point and order a charging code online. Pay for your charge online for €1.3/5minutes just by providing your bank card details and your email address.

For occasional charging, buy a prepaid card from a service station!

You can purchase a prepaid charging card from shops at participating service stations. For €20.00, including all taxes, you will be credited with 2 charging sessions of 30 minutes, which can only be used on the Corri-Door network. Prepaid cards are already activated and can be used immediately after purchase. You don’t need to do anything else before using them.

Are you happy with our service? You can carry on using a Pass purchased from a service station to sign up to one of our subscription plans for unlimited use! However, the prepaid passes purchased from service stations cannot be recharged, so you cannot add more credit it to them.

HOW DO I START CHARGING FROM MY ONLINE ACCOUNT AT A CORRI-DOOR CHARGING POINT?

Have you signed up to a Sodetrel plan or just registered on our website? You have an online account where you can start charging without a Pass at Corri-Door charging points.

To do this, sign in to your online account, go to the “My passes” section and click on “Get charging code”, then follow the instructions.

You will receive a temporary charging code by email, which you will need to enter on the touchscreen at the charging point. This code is valid for 10 minutes, after which you will no longer be able to use it to start charging at the charging point.

It is therefore a good idea to order the charging code only once you are in front of the charging point.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO IF A CORRI-DOOR CHARGING POINT IS NOT WORKING?

For most issues, our teams can intervene remotely via our electronic supervision tool. If the issue requires physical intervention, we will come ourselves or send one of our suppliers as quickly as possible.

Our technical experts are available 24/7 on 09 72 58 51 80 (standard rate number).

CAN I USE AN ADAPTOR TO SPEED UP CHARGING FOR MY VEHICLE?

All cars currently on the market can be charged at Corri-Door charging points thanks to the 3 different connection standards on the charging points. However, some vehicles can only accept the rapid charging power of 50KW provided by the Corri-Door charging points thanks to an adaptor between the vehicle socket and the charging cable on the charging point.

In accordance with the French norm in force since April 2012 (NF EN 61851-1), which stipulates that “adaptors must not be used to connect a mobile socket to the vehicle”, we ask users of Corri-Door charging points not to use any adaptor, regardless of the brand, between the mobile socket on our charging points and the vehicle. Charging is still possible without an adaptor, but it might take longer.
